Model Organisation for Oppressed and Neglected (MOON)
Through the use of resources and technologies, we aim to provide opportunities to the weaker sections of society, especially women, to become socially and economically developed.
MOON is a registered social service voluntary organization, established in 2007. It is based in Podalakuru Road, SPSR Nellore District. This organization was formed with the co-operation of dedicated social workers. The organization formed with no profit motive and dedicated to solve the identified problems of women from weaker sections. This organization aims to become a significant contributor in the field of social development sector that provides a challenging environment and opportunities to work on state of the art technology and to tap into the people's potential to the maximum extent.

To create a society where social justice, peace, harmony, and an assured hope are provided for those in need, and where the impoverished, needy, and vulnerable are brought closer to improved living conditions through their collective social strengths and capacities.
Our Programs
Awareness programs on Sustainable Agriculture
Agriculture is one of the main concerns of the organization, and so, the Integrated Nutrient Management (INM) and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) awareness activities are taken up for the benefit of the farmers in the villages. The selected farmers are given training on these two practices for getting high yields and reducing the investment cost. Similarly, the farmers are also educated to go for organic farming and organize demonstrations for setting up vermin-compost units. We supported 25 small farmers with mini vermin-compost units containing cement rings and vermin's for the production of vermi compost at the household level.
Campaigns on Child Rights and RTE Act
MOON conducted child rights awareness campaigns in 2 operational districts, covering 20 villages, in this reporting year. Further, we have conducted awareness camps on the Right to Education Act (RTE) for community members, teachers, PRI (Panchayati Raj Institution) members, and youth. We have also undertaken capacity building programs for SMC (school management committees) on the RTE Act and child rights in Nellore district, covering 2 mandals where nearly 254 members attended the training program. These SMCs were given specific targets for the next academic year by raising local resources for creating different infrastructure facilities and other facilities needed by the children.
Swatch Bharath Programmes
Swatcha Bharat Abhiyan is a Clean India drive and mission launched as a national campaign by the Indian Government in order to cover the statutory towns, aiming to maintain the cleanliness of the streets, roads and infrastructure of the country. The Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, officially launched this mission on October 2 (the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi). While launching the event, the Prime Minister himself cleaned the road. It is the biggest cleanliness drive ever in India, with approximately 3 million government employees, including students from schools and colleges. MOON organized the Swachh Bharat Campaign and provided cleanliness awareness and other programmes in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh State. MOON also encouraged people to eliminate open defecation by constructing toilets for households, eradicating manual scavenging in communities, introducing modern and scientific municipal solid waste management practices, and enabling private sector participation in the sanitation sector, along with changing people's attitudes toward sanitation and creating awareness.

Agarabatti Making Training
Our organization's has organized an agarbatti training program in the driver's colony, Nellore, teaching them vital job skills. We focus on making agarbattis, teach raw material choice, production, quality control, and packaging. With hands-on practice, participants gain valuable experience in making agarbattis.30-Jul-2021
